“Monument for a Public building was part of a series of works that explored the character and function of public monuments. In this sense it is a critique of the relations between political state and artworks placed in a civic context.”  Richard Stringer

In 2013, the council presented “Monument for a Public Building – Preliminary Works” an exhibition comprising of Richard’s preliminary works created for the sculpture ‘Monument for a Public Building’. The exhibition included working drawings,  journal notes and working models,  at The Gallery – Town Hall St Kilda.   View exhibition here
